Embrace your strengths and elevate your SUCCESS

Summer Watson, MHS, PhD
Human-Forward Leadership Consultant

For more than 35 years, I have dedicated my career to helping people, organizations, and communities thrive through connection, leadership, and meaningful human engagement. My professional journey has spanned human services, mental health, higher education, leadership development, community collaboration, program design, and organizational consulting all grounded in one belief: people perform at their best when they feel seen, valued, connected, and empowered to contribute.

My leadership journey began early, serving as a school president, high school class representative, and sorority president before advancing into nonprofit leadership, healthcare, education, community initiatives, and business development. Throughout my career, I have led large-scale collaborative efforts, developed innovative programs, taught at the collegiate level, supported military and veteran communities, and worked alongside leaders committed to creating lasting impact within their organizations and communities.

As the Founder and CEO of KORE Women, LLC, I help leaders, organizations, and communities strengthen communication, belonging, leadership, and sustainable growth in an increasingly complex and technology-driven world. Through strategic consulting, leadership development, cross-generational mentorship, panel moderation, fireside chats, and organizational solutions, I support organizations in building workplaces and communities, where people feel valued, connected, and empowered to thrive because lasting success happens when people and performance grow together.

At KORE Women, our work is rooted in the understanding that strong organizations are built on strong human connections. We help organizations address challenges, such as disengagement, communication breakdowns, generational divides, employee retention, leadership development, and workplace well-being by creating opportunities for people to learn from one another, collaborate more effectively, and contribute with purpose.

My work also extends beyond organizational consulting through The Human Forward Movement™, an initiative dedicated to helping leaders, organizations, and communities navigate change without losing sight of what makes us human. As artificial intelligence, automation, and rapid innovation continue to reshape how we work and live, I believe our greatest opportunity is not to compete with technology, but to strengthen the human skills technology cannot replace connection, communication, empathy, belonging, critical thinking, purpose, and leadership.

Through speaking engagements, leadership programs, The Human Room™, workshops, community conversations, digital resources, and strategic partnerships, I am committed to helping individuals and organizations create environments where people feel valued, heard, connected, and equipped to thrive.

Whether I am facilitating leadership development, designing mentorship initiatives, consulting with organizations, hosting conversations through The Human Room™, producing The KORE Women Podcast, hosting The Human Forward Movement™ YouTube Channel, or speaking to audiences around the world, my mission remains the same:

As technology continues to reshape how we work, lead, and connect, my mission is simple: to help leaders, organizations, and communities build stronger human connections, foster belonging, and create sustainable success by Putting People First and On Purpose.

Put People First and On Purpose.

If you’re ready to strengthen leadership, improve communication, foster belonging, and build a more human-centered path forward, I’d love to connect.

I was invited to speak at The Rise & Root Empowerment Seminar hosted by Dr. Summer Watson of KORE Women in Washington, DC February 2020 . What a well-organized event! Summer was wonderful. She communicated the details very well. It was a delight to work with her and be a part of her conference. The panel of women speakers for the conference had a breadth of experiences that provided everyone with something to relate to and grow from.

I have also published a phenomenological study, “Effects of the War in Iraq on Military Marriages,” in which I studied six factors that affect military marriages separated by war.

I hold a bachelor’s in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, a master’s in Human Services with a Specialty in Community Counseling from National University, San Diego, and a PhD in Psychology with a clinical emphasis from Saybrook University, Pasadena. I have also been certified in teaching, mediation, substance abuse education and prevention, and leadership.

I have served as a coach and consultant to entrepreneurs, writers, creatives, and those in both the for-profit and non-profit settings. I have facilitated communication groups, taught courses in career transition, psychology, and human services, and served as a mentor for doctoral students. I have also produced documentary films focused on women and empowerment.

One of my favorite Podcasts! And not just because I was a guest in 2020. Summer D. Watson, MHS, PhD has a way of getting down to the heart of the matter by taking listeners on a fascinating journey through conversation with her guests. Tune in for a dose of inspiration!
